Weekend Roundup: May 30-June 1








The weekend is fast approaching and here are some ideas of what to do. On Sunday, Jack Johnson will be live in concert at the Farm Bureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park. The concert starts at 7:30 and it is sure to be a good one.


Starting on Friday and running through Sunday is the Indy Pop Con at the Indiana Convention Center. The convention will have it all: comics, cosplay, video gaming, internet culture, entertainment, and more. Meet Kevin Eastman, the Co-creator of the teenage mutant ninja turtles. You can also get a photo with Game of Thrones star Esme Bianco who plays Ros.

How about heading to the symphony? Check out the exciting  Cirque De La Symphony? Enjoy jaw-dropping acrobatics alongside the orchestra. There are three show this weekend: Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm. The show will take place at the newly renovated Hilbert Circle Theatre. There will be dancers, jugglers, strongmen, and aerial flyers. All they need now is you!


Need a laugh? Then go on down to Old National Centre on Saturday to see Bill Maher. Bill Maher is known for his sarcastic views on politics. The show starts at 7:30 and tickets start at $24.75.


On Saturday there is a walk at the Celebration Plaza in White River State Park. The walk supports Autism Speaks, an organization that strives to bring autism awareness. There is still time to sign up for the walk or just head down and enjoy the festivities.

Are you more of a sports fan? There is an Indianapolis Indians game on Friday at 7:15, Saturday at 7:05 and Sunday at 1:35. The Indians are playing against Syracuse Chiefs at Victory Field. Also the new Indy Eleven has a game this weekend on Saturday at 7:30 against the San Antonio Scorpions at the Carroll Stadium.


Then how about a free concert at the Artsgarden? On Saturday the Athenaeum Pops Orchestra will be giving a concert at 1pm in the Artsgarden downtown. Be sure to stop by after window shopping!

Weekend Roundup: 5/23 - 5/25

It's Memorial Day Weekend, which means it is time for the Indy 500! To kick-off the weekend celebrations on Friday is Coors Light Carb Day . Sammy Hagar and Sublime will be playing. On  Saturday, Country Star, Jason Aldean, will be at the speedway performing a concert. And we can't forget race day is Sunday.



There is more to do this weekend then just the race activities. Take the kids out to see the new orangutan exhibit that is opening this Saturday at the Indianapolis zoo. You can experience up close interactions with the orangutans as well as great family photo opportunities. If you bring your kid to opening day your kid will receive a rare orangutan trading card.




Monkeys not your thing? How about some swing dancing? Swing dance lesson in the Fountain Square Theater start this weekend on Friday. The lessons start at 7:30 and will happen every Friday of the summer. After all that dancing check out the roof top dinning that opens on Friday as well. 



Need a laugh? On Saturday famous blue collar comedian Bill Engvall will be at Hilbert Circle Theater. Best known for his "Here's your sign" bit. You are sure to get a lo of laughs out of this show. There are two shows one starts at 7 and the other starts at 9:30. Grab your tickets fast!



Or, is it getting a little too hot for you? Then you should head on down to Carmel's Clay Water Park. The water park is opening this Friday. You can purchase a private cabana to relax in or try your luck on the AquaClimb.
