Weekend Roundup: August 1 - 3

It’s that time of year again; The Indiana State Fair is here! The Indiana State Fair is a long standing tradition and is a fun tradition. The Indiana State Fair continues to exemplify the very best in Indiana from the grand 4-H competition to the beautiful draft horse shows to daily concerts on stages throughout the grounds. The fair starts this Friday!
 
The 7th Annual Mass Ave Criterium & Cycling Festival will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014. The MAC is one of Indy’s most exciting sporting events held in the beautiful and hip downtown Cultural District of Mass Avenue.
 
The extremely talented Peter Frampton will be playing this Sunday at 7pm at the Palladium. Peter Frampton remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. His fifth solo album, the electrifying Frampton Comes Alive!, is one of the top-selling live records of all time. This is a once in a lifetime show!

Weekend Roundup: July 18 - 20

Thank goodness it’s Friday! Now it’s time for some fun. The Children’s Museum is hosting Terra Cotta Warriors AfterDark. This event is catered to the 21-and-over crowd. Eat, drink, and network at this fun event on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00.

The Indy Film Fest is this weekend!! It runs from the 17-26. The Fest has always been about creating a shared experience around film. Check out when and where these amazing films are being shown here.

 Enjoy where art and wine meet in the Carmel Arts and Design District. Head to Carmel this Saturday for the Art of Wine. Enjoy a summer evening experiencing vintages al fresco at the sixth annual IU Health North Hospital Art of Wine, a can’t miss event in the Carmel Arts & Design District.

Weekend Roundup: July 11-13

                The sun is shining this weekend so go out and enjoy it! On Friday head out to the Indianapolis Zoo for a fun concert for the kids. The Zoolapalooza Concert begins at 5:30 and ends at 8:30. It features songs everyone knows and loves. The concert is held in the middle of the Zoo next to the CafĂ© on the Commons.


                On Saturday bike on down to University Park for the largest USA cycling sanctioned race in the state of Indiana.  Race day registration starts at 8:00 and the race begins at 9:00a.m.  The Indy Crit draws over 500 racers from across the Midwest so be sure to check it out!


                How about a fun outdoor concert? Michael Franti and Spearhead will be playing at the FarmBureau Insurance Lawn at White River State Park this Sunday. The concert starts at 5:30 and ends at 10:00. Come at 3:30 for some yoga on the lawn before the concert. Yoga and music! What more could you want?



                Head to Noblesville for their 23rd annual Street Dance! This family friendly event will happen this Saturday from 5 – 11 p.m. It takes place in the historic downtown Noblesville. It opens with the Taste of Noblesville to give the dance attendees an opportunity to try all the fantastic restaurants Noblesville has to offer. There will be a DJ and dancing all night long.

                Go Check out the O’ Jays performing this Sunday at the Palladium! The show starts at 7pm. This band is an American treasure and was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. Don’t miss you chance to see this amazing band live in concert!

Weekend Round Up: June 6th - 8th




The week is finally over and now it is time to enjoy the sunshine! How about stopping by the Indiana Wing CAFWarbird Expo? On Saturday at the Indianapolis Metro Airport-Tom Wood Aviator Hangar to see Warbird formation flights and static display for free admission. Stay after the show for Hops-N-Props, “A celebration of the finest craft brew from the region”. There will be BBQ, beer and skydivers. 


Looking for delicious wine tasting? Then, head on down to the 15th annual Vintage Indiana Wineand Food Festival. The event is on Saturday at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis. Come enjoy award winning wine and food from all over Indiana. Leave the kids and go and have a good time.


White River State Park is host to Asian Fest 2014. It is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Asia that can be found in Central Indiana. Come be transported to Asia with cultural performances, games, and some Asian food. Admission is free and the festival goes from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 



Come and have your mind blown by Christian and Katalina in their Mind Tripping Show. The show is “a comedy with a psychological twist”. The show is at the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites on Friday and Saturday starting at 8:30.  The Mind Tripping Show will be an interactive show that will include mind boggling illusions. This is a must see.




Come celebrate the release of Laura Benanti’s new CD Live at 54 Below with her show, In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention, at the Cabaret on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:00. Laura Benanti is a Tony Award winner singer and was in the recent live showing of the Sound of Music. Her show will feature amusing stories, a little self-deprecating humor and some lovely melodies. Come and see the show!



Need to get in shape? Enjoy a good bike ride? Join Mayor Greg Ballard for the 2014 Mayor’s BikeRide. Come enjoy a fun bike ride through the city. The ride starts at the city market and features Indy’s Near Northside. The Bike Ride is on Saturday. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. This is sure to be a memorable event!

Weekend Roundup: 5/23 - 5/25

It's Memorial Day Weekend, which means it is time for the Indy 500! To kick-off the weekend celebrations on Friday is Coors Light Carb Day . Sammy Hagar and Sublime will be playing. On  Saturday, Country Star, Jason Aldean, will be at the speedway performing a concert. And we can't forget race day is Sunday.



There is more to do this weekend then just the race activities. Take the kids out to see the new orangutan exhibit that is opening this Saturday at the Indianapolis zoo. You can experience up close interactions with the orangutans as well as great family photo opportunities. If you bring your kid to opening day your kid will receive a rare orangutan trading card.




Monkeys not your thing? How about some swing dancing? Swing dance lesson in the Fountain Square Theater start this weekend on Friday. The lessons start at 7:30 and will happen every Friday of the summer. After all that dancing check out the roof top dinning that opens on Friday as well. 



Need a laugh? On Saturday famous blue collar comedian Bill Engvall will be at Hilbert Circle Theater. Best known for his "Here's your sign" bit. You are sure to get a lo of laughs out of this show. There are two shows one starts at 7 and the other starts at 9:30. Grab your tickets fast!



Or, is it getting a little too hot for you? Then you should head on down to Carmel's Clay Water Park. The water park is opening this Friday. You can purchase a private cabana to relax in or try your luck on the AquaClimb.

The time of year is back again to celebrate the independence of our great nation! Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast – 10:00pm

City of Carmel
Any new or native resident of the City of Carmel surely knows about the spectacle that is CarmelFest! This year is all the more special, as it is the 25th anniversary of CarmelFest, and thus aptly titled “Silver Jubilation”. Guests are encouraged to purchase and wear a Spark Button, as proceeds go toward the purchase of the spectacular fireworks show. Freedom Run – 8:00am
Jump-start your Independence Day celebration with this 4.5 mile run/walk and Kid’s Run at Carmel High School. Also, guests are invited to enjoy post-race activities immediately after the event. St. Vincent Health Fourth of July Parade – 10:30am
One of the greatest CarmelFest traditions, the Fourth of July Parade will begin at 10:30am and is sponsored by St. Vincent Health. This free festival is a must-see, as it plays host to fantastic food, beverages, and a variety of events and entertainment for all to enjoy! Take in the live music, KidZone including petting zoo, rides and games, performance by Carmel Symphony Orchestra, and fireworks launched by Firestone!
 
 
 
Town of Fishers
Come celebrate July 4th at what is being called the biggest block party of the summer at Geist Reservoir’s Blast on the Bridge! The Fall Creek Road bridge closes to car traffic from 5:00pm – 11:00pm and transforms into a family-friendly fireworks pre-show. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy a fabulous evening featuring a boat parade, skydivers, music, food vendors, and much more. Then, relax and enjoy the amazing fireworks show scheduled to start at dusk. Town of Zionsville
Take a trip over to Lions Park for an All-American July 4th Celebration! The second largest fundraiser for the park, the celebration features food, music and fun starting at 5:00pm and followed by fireworks at dusk. Be sure to purchase raffle tickets at $5 each or 5 for $20, with a $1000 grill package as the grand prize and cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd! Proceeds for the raffle go to the park restoration fund and will be used to help restore Lions Club Park after the recent floods.
