Are You a Last Minute Shopper?

If you are, and some of us here at Encore Sotheby’s International Realty, certainly are… We’ve polled our office’s neighborhood experts to find the easiest and best holiday shopping spots throughout town.  If you’re looking for ideas, here’s our local experts’ list:

DOWNTOWN INDY

Although there are several locally owned shops throughout downtown that we love, we keep finding our favorites on Mass Ave.  If there is a child left on your list, you must discover Mass Ave Toys!  With their knowledgeable staff and wide variety, you’ll easily find the perfect gift (or you’ll spend hours enjoying the toys).  If your sweetie needs sweets, check out the Best Chocolate in Town.  Delicious and also conveniently located along Mass Ave.  Lastly we’ve selected Silver in the City / At Home in the City.  You’ll find a gift for nearly everyone on your list in this Mass Ave store.

MIDTOWN

With a multitude of locally owned businesses throughout this north suburban / urban area, it’s hard to narrow the best last minute gift locations, but here are a few we love.  Ideal for hostess gifts and beautiful florals, check out The Empty Vase at 49th and Pennsylvania (pictured right) the gifts inside are equally as beautiful.  No woman on your list will turn down jewelry - trust us!  Visit G Thrapp Jewelers at 56th & Illinois for some stunning baubles perfect for your wife, mother, girl friend or daughter.  Another delicious treat option in Broad Ripple is Just Pop In.  Custom holiday tins in various sizes and flavors are available for your choosing.

NORTH INDY

While we struggled with how exactly to define this corridor along 86th Street, we thought we must include it in our shopping areas because it houses some of our favorite destinations.  For a quick ornament or small gift, check out MG Tates in the Fashion Mall.  Its wide variety and unique items make shopping seamless.  While in the Fashion Mall, stop by Saks Fifth Avenue.  The ideal spot for that sought after fragrance or handbag on her wish list.  Lastly, we love Reis Nichols Jewelers – again, what gal doesn’t wish for something sparkly in her stocking!

GEIST AREA

Headed to a holiday gathering this weekend?  Don’t show up empty handed!  For a sweet treat to share visit The Bakery at Geist or if a bottle of bubbly suits your celebration drop in Tasteful Times of Fishers.  If you still need a gift for a special lady in your life, visit Delaney’s Clothing for hip and contemporary clothes and accessories.

CARMEL

Carmel’s Main Street and Design District offer a plethora of shopping options.  We again had difficulty narrowing to a few of our favorites!  But here’s those that we couldn’t pass up and that you may have previously missed.  14 Districts (pictured left) is a great women’s shop for any stylish woman on your list. For the guy with everything, check out Authentic Sports Collectibles in the Carmel City Center for great sports-related gifts.  Whether hosting or party-going, stop by Joe’s Butcher Shop for excellent appetizers and delicious main dishes.

ZIONSVILLE

Whether Zionsville is your home or not, we recommend you spend an afternoon on Zionsville’s Rockwell-like Main Street.   The strip offers plenty of shops, galleries and restaurants including two of our favorite boutiques: Lesley Jane and Lilly’s Boutique.  Both offer trendy gifts for your friends and family.  If you’re looking for a spot to host a last minute holiday gathering or need a gift certificate for an incredible meal, we recommend Noha Grants.  Food is delicious and ambiance is spectacular for the holiday season.

Hopefully we’ve covered a shopping destination close to you!  The countdown is on…6 days until Christmas!
